Lazy Words...


The following quote is from chapter one of Born to Run.


"Mrs Brightwell...was always on at Patrick about...using what she called "lazy words", such as 'cool' or 'wicked', or worst of all, 'whatever'."

Explain in your own words what Mrs. Brightwell means by lazy words.  Come up with a list of six other "lazy words" that you or people you  know sometimes use.

Don't forget to include your name when you post.  And of course, your spelling must be "wicked".  If it isn't, then that isn't "cool"...

    I think that a lazy word means words that you do not need to use in a sentence. Like for example ‘that was totally interesting. Here are my lazy words

    Mrs. Brightwell means words that don’t really mean a lot. My six examples of lazy words are “epic”, “awesome”, “amazing”, “always”, “only” and “best”

    I think by lazy words Mrs. brightwell meant words that can be used in a more interesting way.

    Mrs. Brightwell means words that aren’t descriptive or don’t have a strong meaning. Some other lazy words are lame, epic, stuff, awesome, sick and totally.

    Me and my friends use “lazywords” such as “Sup” “hey” “whats up” “yo” “amaz” and “peace” "totally" I think what Mrs. Brightwell means by “lazywords” are words that a short for something else.
